First things first - may I just wish you all a very happy New Year? Hopefully you'll all have a grand and glorious time all told.
Secondly, and the first two things in the title - Every year after New Years Eve (sometime XD) my family and I go to a Chinese restaurant that serves Dim Sum. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's basically a buffet that comes to you. We just got back from it, and let me just say that it was WONDERFUL.
Several years ago, I finally got up the courage to try something that was on their menu that I'd been seeing for at least three years - Duck Feet. It was absolutely wonderful and delicious, and I regretted all the years that I hadn't ordered it. When I walked out of the door, it was with the intention of ordering it every year for the rest of my life. The rest of my family wasn't as impressed as I was XD
Regretfully, that was also the year that it went off of the menu, for whatever reason, and it has never been brought back. Every year I ask the waitress hopefully, longing for duck feet, but every year I am disappointed. *sigh*
Onward to the next part! Up until this past week, I've seen very few episodes of Doctor Who, but I've enjoyed all of them. David Tennant is, without a doubt, my favorite Doctor, and so when my dad turned on the television two days ago to see that BBC was running a marathon for him, leading up to the series ending, I was ecstatic. In 48 hours, we watched 18 hours of Doctor Who - it would have been more, but life got in the way.
I'm going to do this without spoilers, but after watching the Doctor for so long, I'm not ashamed to say that I cried at the end. If you know anything about Doctor Who, you probably know that this was David Tennant's last season playing the Doctor, meaning that there had to be a regeneration at the end. I thought I'd cried all that I would, but it was his last line that got me. Be sure to have a box of tissues sitting next to you when you watch it, which I highly encourage you to do.
The new actor that they have to play the Doctor has a very big set of shoes to fill - and I'll be looking forward to watching him do so.
Expect some Doctor Who fan art of the tenth Doctor sometime soon.
As for d'Eye Glasses (of Doom!!!), I finally got glasses. I've been the only person without them in my family, but the past couple of years I haven't been able to see so well, and I can't read street signs unless I'm right underneath them. We took me in, and it turns out one of my eyes is 20/20, whereas the other is 20/100 - the doctor (but not the doctor I wanted him to be...*sigh* I'm not obsessing!) was amazed that I had never had glasses before.
I'm still getting used to them, but they're pretty nice for the most part.
Happy New Year all - I'll be seeing you soon!
In loving memory of the tenth Doctor, 2005-2010
"The Doctor...Doctor...fun?"
